Supreme Court Verdict: No NEET Re-Test; “Can’t Conclude Sanctity Breached,” Says SC admin, July 23, 2024 The bench, chaired by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, stated that ordering a re-test for an exam involving 23.33 lakh aspiring medical professionals would have significant consequences. Many of these candidates had travelled long distances to reach their exam centers. The court noted that it is currently challenging to conclude that the entire examination system has been compromised or that the exam’s integrity has been violated. The Chief Justice recognized the undeniable fact that the question paper had been leaked at least for two exam centers, namely in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh and Patna in Bihar. The Hazaribagh leak has been identified as ‘Ground Zero’ by the CBI, which is investigating a nationwide ‘solver gang’ racket involved in leaking question papers. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud
