PM Modi criticizes Pakistan’s failure to learn from history during Kargil conflict.

Prime Minister Modi spoke at the Kargil War memorial, expressing that Pakistan has faced defeat during its misadventures and has not learned from history. He paid tribute to the Indian soldiers who died in the war, emphasizing that their sacrifice for the nation is immortal and will always be remembered. July 26, 1999 marked the announcement of the successful culmination of ‘Operation Vijay’ by the Indian Army, declaring victory after a nearly three-month-long battle on the icy heights of Kargil in Ladakh. This day is observed as Kargil Vijay Diwas to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the war.

Earlier, PM Modi initiated the construction of a tunnel aiming to provide all-weather connectivity between Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Ladakh. He carried out the “first blast” remotely from Ladakh’s Drass, marking the start of construction of the Shinkun La tunnel.
