Delhi Boy Seeks Science Position, Dies By Suicide When Unable to Secure Seat

On Thursday, around 6:00 am, Kunal, a Class 11 student, was found deceased in his school’s dormitory at Kalinga Institute of Social Science School in Delhi. He had died by suicide, hanging from an iron bar using a torn bedsheet. The police reported that Kunal was the son of Shiv Chand Rai from the Rani Khera area of Delhi’s Nangloi. Kunal’s school did not offer science as a subject for higher studies, and as a result, his friends had moved to other educational institutions, leaving Kunal feeling isolated and despondent.

This may have contributed to his distress. A visible ligature mark was found on Kunal’s neck, indicating the cause of death. The police shifted his body to RTRM Hospital, where an autopsy was performed, following which his body was released to his parents. This tragic incident highlights the importance of providing emotional support to students who may feel isolated or distressed, and emphasizes the need for awareness and intervention regarding mental health issues among young individuals.
