Praful Patel Vows to Quit Politics if Reservation is Disturbed

During his visit to Gondia in the state’s Vidarbha region, Praful Patel expressed his intention to retire from politics if there is no point in holding any post or remaining in politics. He emphasized the importance of upholding the reservation provided by Dr. B.R.

Ambedkar in the Constitution, stating that no one can disturb or change its original structure. Patel addressed the misleading narrative that circulated during the Lok Sabha elections, assuring that individuals like himself, sitting in Parliament and taking oaths to the Constitution, would not allow any changes to occur.

He emphasized the realization among people that the Constitution would not be altered, and that reservation would remain intact. Regarding the Maratha reservation, Patel affirmed the commitment of the MahaYuti government to provide the quota, highlighting the enactment of legislation that offers 10 per cent reservation to the Maratha community.

He pointed out the longstanding demand for reservation by the Maratha community and emphasized the unity of the MahaYuti alliance in facing the upcoming elections in Maharashtra. Patel concluded by expressing confidence that the MahaYuti alliance would successfully form the next government after the Assembly election in Maharashtra.
