9 Men Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For 1985 Police Officer Murder in Uttar Pradesh admin, August 1, 2024 The court of district judge convicted nine men in connection with the murder of Sureri police station SHO Babban Singh in December 1985. Government counsel Satish Chandra Pandey stated that the convicts were given life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 by the court of district judge Vani Ranjan Agarwal. According to Pandey, SHO Babban Singh was attacked by enraged villagers while trying to resolve a land encroachment matter in Sirohi Purva on December 18, 1985. He later succumbed to his injuries. Police filed an FIR against 60 people and submitted a charge sheet against 26 accused.
