India Cherishes Robust Friendship With Vietnam, Says PM Modi

Recently, PM Modi and the Vietnam leader engaged in discussions on various sectors such as defence, maritime trade, and green economy, expressing India’s appreciation for its friendship with Vietnam. They noted the strengthening of cultural and people-to-people linkages, and the potential for closer relations in sectors like defence, maritime trade, and green economy. At Hyderabad House, PM Modi highlighted Vietnam’s importance as a partner in India’s Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision, emphasizing the good coordination between the two nations in their perspectives on the Indo-Pacific. He also extended an invitation to people from Vietnam to visit India and explore its Buddhist Circuit.

In response, PM Pham Minh Chinh invited PM Modi to visit Vietnam, praising India’s leadership under PM Modi, noting its ascendancy as the fifth-largest economy in the world and as a leading global power. He also emphasized the beginning of a new period in the strategic partnership between Vietnam and India. Overall, the two leaders acknowledged the shared cultural heritage between their countries and discussed the progress made in various sectors, affirming the mutual desire to strengthen their strategic partnership even further.
