She recounted that on Wednesday night, a loud bang shook their house while she and her family were asleep. Upon looking outside, they found that the entire village had been washed away. They sought refuge in the village’s Bhagwati Kali Mata temple for the entire night. Anita expressed the devastation, stating that only their house survived and everything else was swept away before her eyes. She tearfully mentioned the loss of around 14 to 15 family members in the flood and her desperate search for survivors. Currently, 53 people are still missing and six bodies have been recovered following a cloudburst and flash floods that wreaked widespread destruction in Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla regions of Himachal Pradesh. The District Disaster Management Authority reported that over sixty houses were washed away and several villages were severely affected by the floods.
