Former police officer fatally shoots son-in-law of IRS agent inside a court in Chandigarh.

A video showed the victim, Harpreet Singh, lying in a pool of blood outside the court. Singh was an IRS officer in the irrigation department. Allegedly, a domestic dispute was ongoing between the families of the victim and the accused, and both parties were at the Chandigarh Family Court for the same matter. During a mediation session between both sides, the accused, Malwinder Singh Sidhu, excused himself to use the washroom.

Accompanied by his son-in-law, they left the room. Shortly after, five shots were heard. Out of the five shots fired by Sidhu, two hit Singh, causing him to collapse to the ground. Videos from inside the court complex showed Singh on the floor with people pleading for help.

Witnesses caught the accused, locked him in a room, and informed the police. The police have since detained the accused. A separate video showed Singh lying in a pool of blood outside the court with several people trying to take him to the hospital. Unfortunately, Singh passed away on the way to the hospital.
