Man in Delhi fatally stabs father after upset over helping brother purchase property.

Mahesh Thakur, the younger son of Gautam Thakur, was reportedly upset about his father helping his elder brother to buy a property. During interrogation, Mahesh revealed that he had learned about his father’s plans to sell the family’s current residence and purchase a property with his elder son without informing him.

He further disclosed that his father had sold property in the past and used the proceeds to assist his elder son in purchasing a property. Feeling betrayed, Mahesh confessed to planning and carrying out his father’s murder while the rest of the family was asleep.

In response to the PCR call about the stabbing, the police found Gautam Thakur dead with stab injuries in his abdomen. Following his confession, Mahesh was arrested, and he also led the police to the alleged crime weapon, a large kitchen knife, which he had disposed of in a water tank on the roof of an adjacent house.

Gautam, who retired from MTNL in 2012, was residing with his two sons and their families on the first floor of the house, and it was established that all family members were present at the time of the incident. Initially, Mahesh claimed to have seen two men leaving the house soon after the incident, but the veracity of this claim is being investigated.
