Man in Delhi fatally stabs father, upset that his assistance led to brother’s property purchase. admin, August 3, 2024 Mahesh Thakur, the younger son of Gautam Thakur, was reportedly upset because his father had assisted his elder brother in purchasing a property. He revealed during questioning that he found out about his father’s plan to sell the family’s current residence and purchase a new property with his elder son, all while keeping it a secret from him. Allegedly, his father had sold some property two years ago and used the proceeds to help his elder son buy a property in New Ashok Nagar, leaving Mahesh with nothing. This sense of betrayal led Mahesh to plan and carry out his father’s murder while the rest of the family was asleep, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apurva Gupta. The police team responding to the PCR call about the stabbing found Gautam Thakur dead in his room with stab injuries in his abdomen. The call was made by Mahesh, who was subsequently arrested after confessing to the crime. He also led the police to the alleged murder weapon, a large kitchen knife, which he had disposed of in a water tank on the roof of an adjacent house. Gautam, who retired from MTNL in 2012, was living with his two sons and their families on the first floor of the house. Investigators determined that all family members were present in the house at the time of the incident. Initially, Mahesh claimed to have seen two men leaving the house after the incident, but this is still under verification. Deputy Commissioner of Police Apurva Gupta stated that various inconsistencies and discrepancies were found in Mahesh’s account during the initial investigation.
