Man in Delhi stabs father to death in reaction to brother’s property purchase assistance. admin, August 3, 2024 Mahesh Thakur, the younger son of Gautam Thakur, was reportedly upset about his father assisting his elder brother in purchasing a property. During interrogation, Mahesh revealed that he had learned about his father’s plan to sell the family’s current residence, which he claimed was being kept a secret from him by his father and elder brother. This information was shared by Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apurva Gupta. Mahesh expressed that his father had sold some property two years ago and used the proceeds to help his elder son buy a property in New Ashok Nagar, without giving him anything. Feeling betrayed, Mahesh admitted to planning and carrying out his father’s murder while the rest of the family was asleep, as per Gupta’s statement. When the police arrived at the scene after a PCR call regarding the stabbing, they found Gautam Thakur deceased in his room on the first floor of the house. He had suffered stab wounds to his abdomen, with Mahesh being the one who made the PCR call before being arrested. Subsequently, Mahesh led the police to the alleged murder weapon, a large kitchen knife, which he had disposed of in a water tank on the roof of an adjacent house. It was disclosed by the police that Gautam had retired from MTNL in 2012 and was residing on the first floor of the house with his two sons and their families. Investigative findings indicated that all the family members were present in the house at the time of the incident. Initially, Mahesh claimed to have seen two men leaving the house after the incident, though this account is under verification, according to Gupta. Furthermore, several inconsistencies and discrepancies were identified in Mahesh’s initial narration and story during the initial investigation.
