Assam Police Seize Drugs Valued at Rs 120 Crore in Joint Operation admin, August 9, 2024 The Assam Police made four arrests in connection with a drug syndicate. The arrests were made following a joint operation with the Special Task Force (STF) in Karimganj and Cachar districts. The police seized drugs valued at over Rs 120 crore in the raids. The accused are identified as Noimul Haque, Fuzail Ahmed, Atiqur Rahman aka Atik, and Jagajit Deb Barma aka Barman. Acting on a tip-off, the police discovered 3,50,000 Yaba tablets and 1.3 kg of heroin concealed in 100 soap cases within the “secret chambers” of a 12-wheeler truck. The value of the seized drugs in Karimganj district is estimated to be around Rs 115 crore, according to Assam Police IG Parthasarathi Mahanta.
