K Natwar Singh, ex External Affairs Minister, passes away at 93, according to report.

K Natwar Singh, a former Indian diplomat and politician, passed away at the age of 93 at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram near Delhi. He had been admitted there for the past couple of weeks.

His son and other family members are present at the hospital, with more relatives expected to arrive from his native state of Rajasthan for the last rites planned in Delhi on Sunday. According to a family source, K Natwar Singh had been unwell for some time and passed away late Saturday night.

He served as India’s External Affairs Minister from 2004 to 2005 during the UPA-I government and was a former Congress MP. Additionally, he held the position of ambassador to Pakistan and was attached to Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s office from 1966 to 1971.
