School Van Driver, 30, Rapes 3-Year-Old Student in Jharkhand: Police

The incident took place in the Mango area of Jharkhand on Friday. Jaishree Tiwary, a resident of Daiguttu under the jurisdiction of the Mango police station, was arrested by a special police team within three hours of the victim’s mother filing an FIR. Superintendent of Police (City & Rural) Rishava Gard provided these details in a press conference. Following the arrest, the accused driver was subjected to a medical checkup and then forwarded to judicial custody on Sunday.

The victim, a three-and-a-half-year-old, complained of stomach pain and disclosed the crime committed by her school driver upon returning home from school on Friday. After receiving this information, Senior Superintendent Kishore Kaushal promptly formed a special police team and instructed them to apprehend the culprit in accordance with the Pocso Act, the SP stated. A female police officer was dispatched to the victim’s residence to gather details of the incident prior to the driver’s arrest. Notably, the school van was impounded, and the police have assured the victim’s family that they will file the chargesheet within a week, emphasizing the seriousness with which they are approaching the matter.
