Stampede at Bihar Temple Consecration Event Results in 7 Devotee Fatalities

A stampede at the Baba Sidheshwar Nath temple on the Baravar hills resulted in at least 35 people getting injured, while seven bodies were confirmed to have arrived at the Jehanabad Post-mortem House. The incident occurred during a consecration event held annually in the holy month of Shravan, drawing devotees to the temple. Images from Jehanabad depicted grieving families and the injured being transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The injured individuals are receiving medical attention at the local Makhdumpur and Sadar hospitals.

Some individuals present at the temple accused the administration of inadequate crowd management, alleging that volunteers involved in crowd control used force which contributed to the stampede. Relatives of the victims expressed frustration at the delayed retrieval of the bodies, with concerns being voiced about the potential for the death toll to rise.
