Woman attempts to assault ex-boyfriend with acid before his wedding in Andhra Pradesh: Police

The police have registered cases against both individuals under relevant sections and have subsequently arrested them. Around 11 am, Jaya, a former software engineer from Tirupati, arrived at the wedding venue in Aravapalli village in Nandalur mandal. She came to confront Sheikh Syed (32), who was preparing to marry another woman without her knowledge.

Jaya, who has a 22-year-old son, had been in a relationship with Syed for about 10 years. However, in the last three years, Syed had left for Kuwait to work as a driver. He returned to India and was ready to get married on Sunday.

During the confrontation, Syed declared that he would not stay with Jaya. In a fit of rage, she tried to attack him with bathroom cleaning acid, but he managed to dodge it. Unfortunately, the acid fell on Syed’s aunt; however, she did not suffer serious injuries as it was a bathroom cleaning acid.

In retaliation, the bridegroom used a ceremonial knife as an adornment during weddings, causing minor injuries to Jaya, whose last name is not known. The police have stated that both individuals have been arrested and cases have been registered against them under the relevant sections.
