A civic volunteer who frequented the hospital, Sanjoy Roy, has been arrested in connection with the case. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has given the city police time until Sunday to complete the investigation. If the investigation is not completed by then, the state government is willing to recommend a CBI probe if the victim’s family desires. She has assured that the state government has no intention of hiding anything. Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal has stated that they are interviewing everyone who was near the location at the time of the incident and is certain that any other culprits will be apprehended within the next four to five days.
