Government Official in UP Allegedly Rapes 6-Year-Old Dalit Girl at Her Home, Says Police

Singh, a 57-year-old government official, has been arrested for raping a six-year-old Dalit girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr and committing bestiality with a goat. The survivor’s family revealed that the man used to frequent the village for official work and entered their house when he saw that the girl was playing in the courtyard with the child of a neighbor and no adult was present. The rape and bestiality were recorded by the neighbor’s child, who is about the same age as the girl.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken note of the heinous crime, leading to the immediate suspension of the official. The state government has also announced an assistance of Rs 8.25 lakh to the girl’s family. Gajendra Singh, a resident of Rasoolpur village, holds the position of Agriculture Development Officer in the Shikarpur block.

Police officials have arrested Singh and he has been suspended from his position. A departmental inquiry is being conducted given his government official status. The police have pledged to seek a speedy trial and ensure that Singh is appropriately punished.

The survivor’s family registered a police complaint on Tuesday morning, and the Chief Minister directed the authorities to meet the family and provide aid with the investigation. This heinous crime has sparked widespread condemnation and swift action from the authorities, aiming to deliver justice for the survivor and her family.
