IndiGo Issues Advisory Ahead of Independence Day: “Heightened Security Checks Will Be Implemented

At Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, some restrictions will be in place for security checks ahead of Independence Day. IndiGo advised passengers to allow extra time for completing security checks and to facilitate a smooth check-in experience. Additionally, non-scheduled flights will face limitations during specific hours on August 15th.

These restrictions will impact non-scheduled flights of scheduled airlines and private jets, preventing them from taking off or landing between 6 am and 10 am, and from 4 pm to 7 pm. However, scheduled flight operations and aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force, Border Security Force, and Army aviation helicopters will not be affected. There are exceptions to these restrictions, permitting state-owned aircraft, helicopters transporting Governors or Chief Ministers, and flights conducting quick response missions or emergency medical evacuations to operate as required.
