LIVE Updates: Nationwide Doctors Protest Against Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case

The Resident Doctors Association at Government Medical College in Amritsar, Punjab has made an announcement regarding the suspension of all non-essential and elective hospital services. This includes Out Patient Departments, Operating Theaters, and wards, starting from August 16 until further notice.

In addition to this, the association has also declared the suspension of these services effective today. Furthermore, Kolkata Police has reported the arrest of 19 individuals in connection with the recent vandalism and violence at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in the city.

The incident involved the vandalization of the emergency ward, nursing station, medicine store, and parts of the outpatient department during midnight protests by women across West Bengal. Moreover, the individual responsible for the declaration has given a Sunday ultimatum to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ensure capital punishment for the culprits.
