Delhi Court Reserves Decision on Summoning Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav in Land for Job Case admin, August 16, 2024 The court is scheduled to pronounce the order on August 24. Special judge Vishal Gogne has reserved the order on summoning Lalu Prasad Yadav, his son Tejashwi Yadav, and nine other charge-sheeted accused after considering a supplementary charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED filed the first supplementary charge sheet against Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and other accused on August 6. It includes the names of several individuals and 96 relied-upon documents. Following a direction from the court on July 6, the ED was granted time to file an additional or concluding charge sheet by the next date of the hearing. During the proceedings, the joint director of the Enforcement Directorate appeared before the court to update on the status of the investigation and the agency’s actions. Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, her daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav, and other accused were already charge-sheeted in this case by the ED. The ED’s Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) clarified that the supplementary charge sheet is based on the evidence and material available to the agency at present. The court had earlier directed the ED to expedite the investigation and file an additional or concluding charge sheet by the next date. In April, the court had instructed the ED to conclude the pending investigation in the Land for Job money laundering case within two weeks. Various individuals, including Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Hema Yadav, Amit Katyal, and Hridyanand Chaudhary, are involved in this case. With the exception of Amit Katyal, all accused appeared through video conferencing. On February 28, the court granted regular bail to Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Hema Yadav, and Hridyanand Chaudhary.
