Derailment of 20 Coaches on Sabarmati Express in Uttar Pradesh Results in No Casualties

The Sabarmati Express passenger train derailed in Uttar Pradesh early on a Saturday morning. The incident took place near Kanpur railway station, where the train was en route to Jhansi.

Fortunately, there were no reported casualties, but the rail route has been disrupted. At least 20 coaches were affected.

The derailed train was Sabarmati Express 19168, operating between Varanasi Junction and Ahmedabad. The derailment was caused by the train striking a boulder.

Thankfully, no passengers were injured in the incident. Emergency services, including fire trucks and ambulances, were dispatched to the scene.

Following a thorough inspection of the train, it was confirmed that no one was hurt. To transport the passengers to another station, the railways are arranging for a bus followed by onward transfer via a special train.

The authorities are ensuring that the disruption in the rail route does not significantly impact the passengers’ travel arrangements.
