Suspect in Bihar Dalit Girl Kidnapping and Murder Case Arrested by Police

The first arrest in the case was made, as confirmed by the police. Kumar, a resident of Paru village, was taken into custody, and the vehicle used for Rai’s escape was confiscated by officials.

The young girl was reportedly kidnapped from her home in Paru village on August 11. Tragically, her body, marked with injuries, was discovered in a pond on Wednesday.

Police have formally charged Rai, as well as several unidentified individuals, in connection with the case. According to the victim’s parents, who are daily wage laborers, Rai and his accomplices forcibly entered their house and held their daughter captive.

The police released a statement noting, “Mithilesh Kumar has been arrested on charges of aiding the prime accused in fleeing the village after committing the crime. A vehicle used for ferrying Rai out of the village has also been seized.”

Furthermore, a notice was pasted outside Rai’s residence, warning of asset confiscation if he does not surrender. Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar mentioned that although initial reports did not indicate sexual assault, the investigation is ongoing, with the results of the vaginal swab awaited.
