CBI Interviews Former RG Kar Hospital Principal About Kolkata Horror

Sandip Ghosh is set to be questioned again today by the CBI. He has been facing intense questioning over the past days, being summoned for lengthy sessions that lasted until midnight. The CBI has specifically asked him about his whereabouts on the night of the trainee doctor’s assault and subsequent death, and have reached out to others who were on duty that night to corroborate his statements.

Additionally, Dr. Ghosh has been asked about his initial reaction to the doctor’s death, as well as whom he asked to inform the family and who contacted the police. The CBI also inquired about the weekly roster of the chest medicine department, where the victim often had extended duty hours. According to reports, some of Dr. Ghosh’s responses were convoluted, and the CBI has brought in psychologists to assist with the questioning sessions.

The scope of the CBI’s probe into the rape and murder case is broad, with a list of around 40 individuals, including doctors and police officers, set to be questioned. The investigation has also involved recording a written statement from the mother of Sanjoy Roy, a civic volunteer who was arrested a day after the discovery of the doctor’s body on August 9th.
