Harbhajan Singh Urges Mamata Banerjee for Justice and Introspection in Kolkata Rape and Murder Case

Harbhajan Singh has written a two-page letter demanding justice for the victim of the Kolkata rape and murder, a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage and protests across the country. In the letter, addressed to Ms. Banerjee, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, and the citizens of India, Singh called for “justice and introspection”, emphasizing the need for systemic change and action by the authorities.

In the letter, shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Singh expressed deep concern about the deeply rooted issues within society highlighted by the incident. He condemned the fact that such an atrocity could occur within the premises of a medical institution, a place dedicated to healing and saving lives, emphasizing that it is both shocking and unacceptable.

Singh also voiced support for the protests staged by the medical community in response to the incident, acknowledging the challenging conditions in which they already work and the impact of such incidents on their ability to carry out their duties safely. Furthermore, Singh urged the West Bengal government and the investigating agency, CBI, to take immediate and decisive action to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.

He called for the implementation of comprehensive measures by the governments to prevent such occurrences in the future.
