Indian Air Force and Army Conduct Daring Paradrop of World’s First Portable Hospital at 15,000 Feet admin, August 17, 2024 The Aarogya Maitri Health Cube, also known as the “world’s first portable hospital,” is a homegrown trauma care innovation. These cubes are utilized to establish trauma care facilities in remote areas, significantly contributing to saving lives in such areas. They were developed under Project BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita and Maitri) and were an extensive part of a humanitarian aid and disaster relief initiative, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. The Indian Army’s Para Brigade played a crucial role in successfully deploying the trauma care cube using advanced precision drop equipment. This deployment highlighted the capability of specialized military assets to provide effective support for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, specifically in remote and mountainous regions. The portable hospitals with state-of-the-art technology were also deployed in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya to enhance medical readiness and response capabilities ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram temple in January.
