Autopsy report reveals injuries suffered by Kolkata doctor: What the findings say.

The autopsy report did not mention any fractures. However, it revealed that the injuries were inflicted before the victim’s death. The cause of death was confirmed as strangulation, with medical evidence of sexual assault. The report also denied the claim of finding “150 gm/mg of semen” in the victim’s body, as stated in a petition filed by her family in the high court.

It mentioned the presence of “white thick viscid fluid” in the body without specifying its nature. Additionally, the report indicated the weight of the genitalia as “151 gm,” which is a standard procedure in post-mortem reports. Despite the numerous injuries to various body parts, including the head, cheeks, lips, nose, jaw, chin, neck, arms, shoulder, knees, and inside genitalia, there was no mention of any fractures. The report also documented haemorrhage in the lungs and blood clots in other parts of the body.

Following the doctor’s death at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9, protests and strikes erupted across the country. Subsequently, the Kolkata Police arrested a civic volunteer named Sanjay Roy, and three days later, the CBI took over the investigation at the direction of the Calcutta High Court. The central agency has been questioning the medical college’s former principal, Sandip Ghosh, for four days.
