Arunachal Pradesh Requires Inner Line Permit for Non-Residents to Enter the State admin, August 19, 2024 Pema Khandu, in a joint meeting with government officials and leaders of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU), emphasized the importance of protecting indigenous tribes from outside influx. He highlighted the need to strengthen the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system to prevent illegal entry and prolonged stay of non-local migrants in the state. Mr. Khandu expressed the government’s commitment to this objective and mentioned that they are internally preparing to enhance the ILP system. During the meeting, he acknowledged the significance of taking inputs from the state’s premier students’ organization, AAPSU. The union, led by its President Dozi Tana Tara, presented a detailed survey and suggested ways to strengthen the existing system through a PowerPoint presentation. The state government is gearing up to implement these suggestions, with a focus on protecting the indigenous tribes.
