Poland views India as a valuable partner: Lodz Governor ahead of PM Modi’s visit

The Governor of Lodz expressed that Poland considers India a significant business partner. She noted that there are several examples of successful collaboration, such as Infosys employing over 3,000 people in the region and more than 200 Indian MSMEs actively involved in various businesses in Poland.

The Deputy Mayor of Lodz conveyed his anticipation for Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Poland and highlighted the expected discussions with Polish leaders. He emphasized the uniqueness and importance of this upcoming visit and expressed high hopes for its outcomes.

Amit Lath, Vice President of the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce, described PM Modi’s visit as historic and a significant opportunity for collaboration between the two nations. He highlighted the potential for cooperation in various sectors and the increasing popularity of Indian vegetarian food in Europe as a means of strengthening cultural ties.

Lath also pointed out the growth of business in India under PM Modi’s leadership and the interest that India sparks in Europe due to its young population and economic development. The MEA Secretary (West) labeled PM Modi’s visit as a landmark event, emphasizing the review of bilateral relations, guidance for enhancement, and discussion of regional and global issues of mutual interest.

He also mentioned the long-standing ties between India and Poland, including Poland’s assistance during the Ukraine conflict and historical instances of refuge provided to Polish women and children in India.
