Chevron plans to invest Rs 8,300 crore in Karnataka and recruit 600 engineers.

Chevron has announced plans to hire 600 engineers by 2025 for its engineering and digital services center, with the aim of advancing energy system technology innovations. This initiative aligns with the state government’s commitment to promoting innovation, economic growth, and job creation.

MB Patil stated that the new centre will manage global energy projects and operations in collaboration with international partners. Dr. Akshay Sahni, Country Head of Chevron India, emphasized that the centre will offer an opportunity for India’s talented workforce to leverage the resources and expertise of Chevron’s global network towards delivering affordable and reliable clean energy solutions.

Minister Patil highlighted Bengaluru’s significant presence as the location for over 500 Global Competence Centres (GCCs), representing more than 30 percent of India’s GCCs across various sectors such as finance, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing. He also noted Karnataka’s consistent efforts in driving economic growth and development.
