9 People Injured in Mumbai After Drunk Passenger Seizes Bus Steering Wheel

Several individuals have been admitted to various hospitals in the city after a bus driver lost control of the vehicle in Lalbaugh, Mumbai. The incident occurred when a passenger, seemingly intoxicated, engaged in an altercation with the driver and suddenly seized the steering wheel. As a result, the bus collided with pedestrians, cars, and two-wheelers, causing injuries to nine individuals, three of whom are in critical condition.

Police have detained the intoxicated passenger and are conducting further investigations. The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking, the transport arm of the Mumbai civic body BMC, was involved in the incident. According to an official from the Kalachowki police station, the bus, operating on Route 66 from Ballard Pier to Rani Laxmibai Chow in Sion, was en route when the altercation took place.
