Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Hit by Heavy Rains: 10 Dead, Over 100 Trains Cancelled

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to two chief ministers on Sunday, promising them assistance in addressing the consequences of heavy rain in Hyderabad. The city has been affected by waterlogging, leading to the declaration of a holiday for schools on Monday. The weather department issued a red alert for several districts of Telangana for very heavy to extremely heavy rain on Monday.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy held an emergency review meeting, urging officials to remain alert and take immediate action in flood-affected areas. He advised people to leave their homes only if necessary. In Vijayawada, the worst-affected district, the overflowing of the Budameru rivulet caused flooding in many parts of the city.

Additionally, several other districts in Andhra Pradesh are expected to receive heavy rainfall on Monday.
