CCTV captures bike-borne killers attacking and killing ex-corporator Vanraj Andekar in Pune.

Vanraj Andekar tragically passed away after being rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. The attack is believed to have stemmed from personal animosity. Mr. Andekar had served as a corporator before the Pune civic body was placed under a state government-appointed administrator.

Visuals from a CCTV camera captured around 12 men arriving on six two-wheelers at Mr. Andekar’s premises, brandishing firearms. At the time of the attack, he was alone. Reportedly, five rounds were fired at him, and he was also assaulted with long-blade sickles.

He was pronounced dead upon arrival at KEM Hospital. The Joint Commissioner of Police, Ranjan Kumar Sharma, stated that Andekar sustained multiple sharp weapon injuries, with further details to be provided later. The high-profile murder is being investigated by the Pune crime branch.

It is believed that the attackers were able to manipulate the power supply in the area, causing the street lights to go out. In the CCTV footage, an object appears to be thrown at the attackers but misses them. An adult and two children on a scooter are seen narrowly escaping the crime scene unscathed.
