Acid Attack in Nashik Leaves 18-Year-Old Injured, Parents also Harmed: Police

Three victims are currently receiving treatment at the government hospital in Malgaon. The incident occurred at around 2:30 am in the Islambad area of Malegaon in Nashik district, where the young woman, a college student, and her parents were injured.

The assailant entered the house while they were asleep and threw hydrochloric acid on the young woman before fleeing. He also targeted her parents with the acid.

The identity of the assailant and their possible motives are currently unknown. The police have not yet recorded the woman’s statement.

A First Information Report has been filed at Malegaon Killa police station under sections 124 (1) and 333 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertain to causing grievous hurt by using acid and house-trespass after preparing for assault. The authorities continue to investigate the matter.
