Man Faces Charges For Shooting 2 Men at Maharashtra Railway Station admin, September 5, 2024 The incident took place at platform number 1 at around 6 pm on Thursday. The suburban station on the Central Railway route was crowded with commuters at the time. Police stated that the incident was the result of a business rivalry. Senior Inspector Pandhari Kande of the Kalyan GRP (Government Railway Police) mentioned that an FIR has been registered against the accused Vikas Nana Pagare for attempt to murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and under the Arms Act. Police are investigating if more people were involved in the shooting besides Pagare. The incident was captured on cameras and a video went viral on social media within minutes. After opening fire, Pagare attempted to flee towards the railway tracks, but he was chased and apprehended by policemen on duty with the help of some commuters. The injured person was identified as Shankar Sansare, while the second man targeted by Pagare escaped unharmed. Sansare was taken to a local hospital, where he received treatment for gunshot wounds. The police mentioned that both the assailant and the duo he targeted have criminal records. They linked the firing to professional rivalry over a TV cable business in the area after conducting a preliminary probe. Initially, a fight occurred between Pagare and the duo outside the railway station. As Sansare ran inside the station, the gunman followed and fired at him and the other person accompanying him from his revolver. The revolver and pellets used in the crime have been sent for forensic analysis by the GRP.
