Haryana Energy and Jails Minister Ranjit Chautala, son of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, decided to contest independently after not being given a ticket. Additionally, former minister Karan Dev Kamboj stepped down as the state BJP’s Other Backward Classes (OBC) Morcha chief after being denied a ticket. Despite attempts to downplay the events, former minister Savitri Jindal, who recently joined the BJP, announced her intent to contest from Hisar independently. Furthermore, MLA Lakshman Napa, who met former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and later joined the Congress, was referred to as a senior leader by Mr Saini, who expressed the party’s intention to make them understand. The BJP in Haryana faces tough competition from the resurgent Congress and is aiming for a hat-trick in the upcoming elections.
