Unfounded Bomb Threat Diverts Mumbai-Frankfurt Vistara Flight to Turkey

Erzurum Governor Mustafa Ciftci announced that all search and examination activities have been completed and the bomb threat was found to be unfounded. As a result, the flight ban at Erzurum’s airport has been lifted, and an alternate flight from Mumbai to Frankfurt has been arranged for the stranded passengers. A Vistara flight from Mumbai to Frankfurt, numbered UK27, was diverted to Erzurum due to a security concern. The flight landed at 4:30 p.m. local time, and all necessary checks were conducted by security agencies to clear the customers, crew, and aircraft.

Vistara also mentioned that an alternate aircraft was being sent to Turkey to transport the passengers to Frankfurt. Turkish authorities reported that a note reading “bomb on board” was found in a lavatory on the aircraft, prompting the emergency landing in eastern Turkey. The plane had 247 passengers and crew on board. As of 23:30, all search and examination operations have been completed, and flights in and out of the province can resume as usual.
