Rahul Gandhi must clarify confusion regarding reservation issue: Prashant Kishor admin, September 12, 2024 Prashant Kishor criticized Rahul Gandhi for his shifting statements on the reservation issue, claiming that it creates confusion about the party’s stance. Kishor referred to Gandhi’s remark at Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he suggested that reservations may be “reconsidered” when equal opportunities are guaranteed to everyone in India. He accused Gandhi of being indecisive and withdrawing his statement after his talk in the US. Furthermore, Kishor targeted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over his alliance with the BJP and specifically criticized him for prioritizing political survival over the interests of the Muslim community. Kishor claimed that Kumar expelled him from JD-U for opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). He accused Kumar of maintaining the alliance with BJP while not taking a principled stand on issues that matter to the Muslim community. Kishor also criticized Muslim leaders within JD-U for supporting a party that backs laws causing discomfort within the Muslim community, such as the Waqf law. He claimed that JD-U’s gestures, like appointing Muslim MLCs or board members, are merely symbolic and do not truly stand with the community on crucial issues, like their protests against the CAA, NRC, and Waqf laws.
