The high court intervened, stating that the arrest of the Wing Commander would harm his reputation and career. It ordered the police to obtain permission before filing a chargesheet in the case and requested a status report from the Union Territory administration’s Additional Advocate General for the next hearing. The court also directed that the accused Wing Commander should be released on bail if arrested, and outlined certain conditions for his bail, including regular meetings with the investigating officer and restrictions on leaving Jammu and Kashmir and contacting prosecution witnesses. In her complaint, the 26-year-old Flying Officer detailed her alleged harassment, sexual assault, and mental torture over the past two years. She described an incident in which the Wing Commander allegedly forced her into oral sex and molested her, leading her to report the matter after seeking guidance from other women officers. She expressed the mental agony of being mistreated, and she felt heartbroken by the bias of station authorities and the lack of support from the internal committee. The Flying Officer also reported feeling continuously monitored and harassed, resulting in significant impact on her mental health. She detailed the fear and helplessness she experienced, along with thoughts of suicide, and her social life being disrupted and discouraged by authorities.
