BJP’s entire leadership accused Raaj Kumar Anand of corruption, says AAP after his resignation. admin, April 10, 2024 The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has stated that every minister and MLA is currently being put to the test. The party highlighted that one of its leaders was under scrutiny by central agencies and had their house searched last year in connection with an alleged corruption case. The leader in question, who previously held the portfolio for social welfare, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes, expressed disillusionment with the party’s involvement in corrupt practices and announced their decision to resign from AAP. Senior AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj referenced an incident in November where the Enforcement Directorate raided the home of Raaj Kumar Anand for 23 hours, emphasizing the BJP’s previous accusations of corruption against Anand. Bhardwaj also suggested that the BJP’s motive for the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal was to dismantle AAP, and stressed that every minister and MLA within the party is currently facing a significant challenge. Amid these circumstances, Anand was the first leader of AAP to publicly resign over allegations of corruption since the commencement of a series of arrests by central agencies. Additionally, Delhi minister Atishi asserted that the BJP had been attempting to lure several AAP leaders using both incentives and coercive tactics. Further complicating matters, the BJP has taken legal action against Atishi by filing a defamation suit and lodging a complaint with the Election Commission, which has subsequently issued a notice. In another development, it was revealed that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his former deputy Manish Sisodia, and senior leader Satyender Jain are currently in jail, with only one leader, Sanjay Singh, being released on bail last week. The ED had previously searched Anand’s house in connection with a customs-related money laundering case, which had been the subject of a complaint by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for alleged customs evasions amounting to over Rs 7 crore. Subsequently, the ED filed a complaint against Anand, marking a significant development in the ongoing probe. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)
