AAP on Raaj Kumar Anand, Minister who resigned, stating “Entire BJP said he was corrupt admin, April 10, 2024 According to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), every minister and MLA is being put to the test. The party highlighted that a leader who previously handled the social welfare, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes portfolio decided to resign due to the party’s involvement in corrupt practices. This announcement was made in the light of the leader’s house being searched by central agencies in connection with an alleged corruption case. Senior AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj mentioned that the Enforcement Directorate conducted a 23-hour raid at the house of Raaj Kumar Anand in November. He also emphasized the BJP’s alleged intention behind the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, stating that the party aims to dismantle AAP. Mr. Bhardwaj expressed confidence that despite the challenging circumstances, a significant number of people within AAP would remain steadfast in their support for the party. He acknowledged that some individuals might retreat or lose morale in the face of adversity. The text mentions that Mr. Anand’s house was searched in connection with a customs-linked money laundering case, with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence alleging false declarations in imports for customs evasions amounting to over Rs 7 crore. Following this, a complaint was filed against Mr. Anand. Furthermore, the text reported that AAP leader and Delhi minister Atishi claimed that the BJP was attempting to influence her party’s members, including herself, through the use of incentives and coercion. This assertion led to the BJP filing a defamation suit against her and lodging a complaint with the Election Commission. The text also stated that Mr. Anand is the first AAP leader to publicly resign and accuse the party of corruption since the central agencies initiated a series of arrests. Notably, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his former deputy Manish Sisodia, and senior leader Satyender Jain are currently in jail, while only one leader, Sanjay Singh, was released on bail last week.
