Beant Singh’s Son Contesting Elections from Punjab in Place of Indira Gandhi Assassin

Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, aged 45, dropped out of Class XII and is the son of Beant Singh, one of the two assassins of the late Prime Minister. He attempted to contest the Lok Sabha polls in 2014 and 2009 from Fatehgarh Sahib and Bathinda seats, respectively, without success. He represented the Bahujan Samaj Party in the 2019 election. Beant Singh and Satwant Singh, who were then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s bodyguards, assassinated her on October 31, 1984 at her residence.

Sarabjit Singh Khalsa declared assets worth Rs 3.5 crore in 2014 in his election affidavit.
