Beant Singh’s Son Running for Election in Punjab after Indira Gandhi’s Assassination

Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, a Class XII dropout, is the son of Beant Singh, one of the killers of the late Prime Minister. He has contested the Lok Sabha polls in 2009 and 2014, but was unsuccessful in both attempts.

In 2019, he ran as a candidate for the Bahujan Samaj Party. The late Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, was assassinated by her bodyguards, Beant Singh and Satwant Singh, on October 31, 1984, at her residence.

In the 2014 election affidavit, Sarabjit Singh Khalsa declared assets worth Rs 3.5 crore. His mother, Bimal Kaur, and his grandfather, Sucha Singh, both became MPs in 1989.
