Congress Considering This Leader as Opponent for Kangana Ranaut in Himachal’s Mandi

Discussions were held on the 2-3 names that were shortlisted, with the decision depending on the approval of the high command, Mallikarjun Kharge, and other relevant authorities. Senior leaders are of the opinion that a young leader should be fielded this time, and as a result, consensus has been reached on the name of Vikramaditya (Singh).

The finalization of the names is expected soon, as per the statement made. Following the meeting, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu mentioned that discussions were held for the party’s 4 seats.

It was also announced that a ticket for Mandi will be revealed shortly. Party senior leader Rajeev Shukla indicated that the meeting primarily focused on Himachal Pradesh, with candidates for two positions already finalized, and the remaining two under consideration.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh criticized Bharatiya Janata Party candidate and actress Kangana Ranaut for her “Chhota Pappu” remark. Singh expressed his intention to pray for her “good sense” and challenged her to engage in a debate.

He urged her to address the critical issues facing Manali instead of targeting the Congress party and its leaders. The upcoming elections will cover the four Lok Sabha seats and six vacant Assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh, with polling scheduled for June 1 and counting on June 4.

Mandi constituency, currently held by the late leader’s wife Pratibha Singh, is significant as it is considered a stronghold of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s family. It was vacated after the death of BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma in 2021.
