Adhir Chowdhury’s Confrontation with “Drunk” Man on Busy Road Caught on Video

Mr Chowdhury, who is seeking re-election from the constituency, accused the Trinamool Congress of trying to impede his campaign. He alleged that the ruling party had initiated this practice during last year’s civic polls.

According to Mr Chowdhury, the local TMC is behind this tactic in an attempt to discourage people from working for the Congress party. He claimed that similar actions were taken by the TMC during the previous civic polls.

Mr Chowdhury recounted an incident where he was confronted by a group of people yelling at him to leave. He stated that he recognized the organized nature of the group and believes it to be the work of the TMC.

He has informed the district superintendent of police and sought intervention in the matter. The Trinamool Congress responded to Mr Chowdhury’s allegations, calling them a “sheer display of hooliganism.”

They accused Mr Chowdhury of using thuggery and intimidating their workers. The party expressed that they perceive Mr Chowdhury’s actions as a manifestation of his fear of losing the elections.

The TMC also announced that former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan would be their candidate against Mr Chowdhury, who has held the Baharampur Lok Sabha constituency since 1999. The polls for Baharampur will take place on May 13th.
