Lok Sabha Elections 2024: “Voters Smart, See What Happened To Indira Gandhi”: Sam Pitroda

Sam Pitroda is the chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress. In an interview with ANI, he emphasized the need to wait for the results of the Lok Sabha polls before making predictions, citing the tendency of Indian voters to surprise people.

He urged against underestimating the intelligence of Indian voters and highlighted their desire for a democratic, non-dictatorial environment where institutions work, there is freedom, flexibility, and the ability to practice religion and marry freely, as well as the creation of jobs and control of inflation. Mr Pitroda responded to a question about the challenges faced by the Congress, especially in north India, by expressing confidence in the efforts of Congress leaders, including Mr Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi.

He praised the Congress manifesto, prepared under the leadership of P Chidambaram, as a perfect one for the people of the country, reflecting the values that Congress stands for. Highlighting his own credentials as a technocrat, Mr Pitroda also mentioned his previous roles as Chairman of Telecom Commission and the head of India’s National Knowledge Commission.
