The Peel Regional Police announced that warrants have been issued for three additional persons in connection with the case. The stolen gold and currency had recently arrived on an Air Canada flight from Zurich, Switzerland. Authorities suspect that at least two former Air Canada employees participated in the audacious theft. The arrested individuals include Parmpal Sidhu, aged 54, and Amit Jalota, aged 40, both of Indian origin and from Ontario, along with Ammad Chaudhary, Ali Raza, and Prasath Paramalingam. Additionally, Durante King-Mclean, a 25-year-old from Brampton, is in custody in the United States on firearms trafficking charges. The police have also issued warrants for three other individuals: Simran Preet Panesar, Archit Grover, and Arsalan Chaudhary. Air Canada confirmed the employment of Parmpal Sidhu and Simran Panesar, stating that one had left the company prior to the arrests, and the other had been suspended. The lead investigator described the theft as the largest gold heist in Canadian history and emphasized the involvement of airline employees in pulling it off. The police immediately launched an investigation after the cargo was reported missing and have been collaborating with law enforcement agencies in the United States. They have made significant progress in recovering stolen items, including illegal firearms and a kilogram of gold worth approximately $89,000. The Peel Regional Police Chief vowed to continue pursuing the case across international borders and ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
