Attacked by mob in Bengaluru: Harshika Poonacha and Bhuvann Ponnannaa question location resemblance to Pak or Afghanistan

Actor Harshika Poonacha, known for her work in Kannada movies, recently shared a disturbing incident on social media. She described how she and her husband were harassed and attacked by a group of men for speaking in their local language. The incident took place in Bangalore, as they were leaving a restaurant in the Fraser Town area. According to Poonacha’s account, two men approached their car and began arguing about its size, followed by verbal abuse and attempted physical assault.

The situation escalated when around 30 men from the same group gathered and tried to snatch her husband’s gold chain. Poonacha and her husband were subjected to verbal abuse and intimidation, with the attackers expressing animosity towards them speaking in Kannada. Poonacha further revealed that despite seeking help from the police, they received no assistance. The lack of support and empathy from the local police was evident, as they encountered indifference and reluctance to address the situation.

This added to the distressing nature of the incident, as the police officer they approached showed disinterest in their plight and failed to offer any meaningful assistance. The actor’s post, featuring visuals of the alleged attackers and a detailed account of the harrowing experience, highlighted the larger issue of safety and security for locals in Bangalore.
