Arvind Kejriwal Faces Threat of “Slow Death” in Tihar Jail: AAP admin, April 20, 2024 Arvind Kejriwal, who has Type-2 diabetes, is in need of insulin and a video conferencing with his family doctor. However, his requests have been denied by the jail administration, according to Saurabh Bharadwaj, a spokesperson for his party. During a press conference, Bharadwaj claimed that there is a conspiracy to cause the slow death of Arvind Kejriwal, citing the Chief Minister’s blood sugar readings in jail. Bharadwaj also criticized the Tihar administration, BJP, Centre, and Delhi LG for allegedly denying insulin to Kejriwal. He mentioned that the Delhi Chief Minister has been suffering from diabetes for the last 20-22 years. Additionally, senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi expressed shock and alarm at the fact that Kejriwal has not been administered insulin to control his sugar levels since his arrest. The ED claimed that Kejriwal was consuming food high in sugar like mangoes and sweets every day, despite having type 2 diabetes, to establish grounds for medical bail. However, Kejriwal refuted these claims, asserting that the food he consumed was in line with the diet chart prepared by his doctor. It was mentioned in court that out of 48 meals sent from home, only on three occasions were mangoes included. According to Saurabh Bharadwaj, the court has allowed Kejriwal to use a machine in the jail to monitor his daily blood sugar levels. He also alleged that there is a conspiracy to cause severe organ damage to Kejriwal so that when he is released from jail after 2-4 months, he will require treatment for kidney, heart, and other organs. Saurabh Bharadwaj, who holds the portfolio of health in the Delhi government, made these statements. Arvind Kejriwal
