Congress Under Fire in Karnataka Love Jihad Case as Leader Alleges Love Jihad After Daughter’s Murder

The Congress leader’s daughter, Neha Hiremath, was tragically stabbed to death in Hubbali by a former college classmate, Fayaz Khondunaik. The police suspect that the motive for the murder was Neha’s rejection of Fayaz’s romantic advances. During the interrogation, the accused claimed that they had been in a relationship, but Neha had started avoiding him.

This incident has sparked a political debate between the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP. The ruling party attempted to portray the incident as a personal matter, while the BJP criticized the state’s law and order situation, with Union Minister Pralhad Joshi even insinuating a “love jihad” angle. However, Home Minister G Parameshwara refuted these claims.

The victim’s father also alleged a “Love Jihad” conspiracy behind the crime, further complicating the situation. The BJP criticized the Congress government for failing to ensure moral and ethical education in schools and for its handling of law and order. In response, the Congress defended the state’s law and order situation and accused the BJP of attempting to impose Governor’s rule in Karnataka.
